TUITION FEES FOR YOUR STUDIES AT HDBW
What does it cost to study at HDBW? Find here an overview of the monthly tuition fees in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes, depending on the study time model.
And once per semester there is a student contribution for the Munich Student Union.

- There is no additional HDBW registration fee
- All courses and examination fees at the HDBW are already included
Monthly tuition fee
Master’s degree programmes
- 720 € full-time studies per month| Standard period of study 3 semesters | 1 semester = 6 months
- 432 € part-time studies per month | Standard period of study 5 semesters | 1 semester = 6 months
Each resulting in a total master tuition fee of 12.960 €.
Bachelor's degree programmes
- 540 € full-time studies or dual track courses per month| Standard period of study 7 semesters | 1 semester = 6 months
- 420 € extra-occupational studies per month| Standard period of study 9 semesters | 1 semester = 6 months
Each resulting in a total bachelor's tuition fee of 22.680 €.
Semester contribution for Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern
HDBW is a member of the Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern (the Munich and Upper Bavaria Student Union). This means HDBW students pay a compulsory contribution to this Student Union once per semester for the services that can be used there.
Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern
- Provides student cantinas / food and drinks
- Provides student housing and helps with the search for accommodation
- Supports international students
- Offers exciting events
- Advises in difficult situations
Total compulsory fee for the whole of the summer winter semester 2024 is 85 €.
Procedure for payment: Before the start of each semester, you pay the student union fee to the HDBW. And we forward the amount to the Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern.
Regional public transport all around Germany: 29-€-Ticket!
Since winter semester 2023/2024, students are able to purchase the 29-€-Ticket.
With this reduced 'Deutschlandticket', you can use the entire Munich and Germany-wide public regional transport for only 29 € per month at the same conditions as the regular Deutschlandticket. This regular Deutschlandticket is obtainable for everybody in Germany for 49 €.
- For the winter semester 2024/25 a new ticket can be applied for with the current HDBW certificate of enrolment: https://mvg.de/29euro
- The 29-€-Ticket is a monthly subscription that can be cancelled each month with a notice period to the 10th of the previous month
- The 29-€-Ticket ends automatically at the end of the semester
- Thus the maximum validity of the current subscription is March 31st, 2025
